Florist's Fancy

Our client was a florist who wanted dramatic foliage, twining vines, forking branch material, funky seedpods, specific flowers in her preferred colorway, and a myriad of botanical textures. Our challenge was to include it all, while keeping the landscape cohesive, lush, low-water, low maintenance, and beautiful. 

San Marin

Pastoral Potager

An unused far-corner of the landscape was transformed into a vibrant and productive vegetable garden. Views of the golden grassy hills beyond were framed to be enjoyed from a perfectly placed bench and bistro table. Privacy hedging was planted along a neigbor's viewline. The client adorned a blank fence with a mural painted by her neice.

Chic Playspace

A small backyard was redesigned to provide both a tranquil retreat and interactive play space for mother and daughter. Running water and low maintenance evergreen plants restored calm. Additional flowering plants now attract pollinators and delight onlookers. Life and wonder was brought back to the space!

Sun Valley

Birders' Backyard

These clients wanted to support migratory bird and and native bee populations passing through their property. They routinely had birds and owls using nesting boxes along their fenceline. The planting design for this job included 95% native plants, a seaonally-wet arroyo stream, a 'firebreak' sparseley planted with succulents, and a handfull of delicious fruit trees.
