OUR
DESIGN
PROCESS
If you are interested in working together, please contact us here.
Initial Consultation
We'll begin with a brief phone call to see if the project feels like a good fit. From there, we’ll schedule an on-site meeting to walk the property, discuss your goals, style, budget, and overall vision for the landscape. Inspirational images from pinterest (or old family photo albums) are always welcome to spawn discussion.
Design Proposal
After our meeting, we’ll prepare a written proposal outlining the scope of work, potential improvements, design process, and estimated fees. Once discussed and approved, we begin developing the design.
Site Measurements
Depending on the project, we may use an existing survey, recommend a professional site survey or scan, or measure the space by hand. An accurate base map allows us to thoughtfully design around the property's existing conditions.
Concept Design
Next, we create a visual presentation that brings the future landscape into focus. This includes initial layout concepts, inspiration imagery, planting ideas, and thoughtfully selected materials that respond to your goals, style, and the character of the site.
We’ll propose elements such as pathways, raised beds, lighting, trellises, furnishings, sculpture, habitat areas, and other garden features, alongside planting palettes we feel will resonate with you and the surrounding wilds. The goal is to help you clearly imagine how the finished landscape could look, feel, and function. You'll have a chance to reflect and we can refine ideas before moving on to more detailed scale plans.
Master Plan Drawings
Next, we create detailed landscape plan drawings showing the layout, materials, and planting design. These drawings are used for contractor pricing and installation.
Contractor Bidding
We can recommend trusted contractors, help gather bids, and assist in comparing pricing. If needed, we can also help adjust materials or project priorities to align with budget goals.
Installation Coordination
During construction, we stay involved to answer client and contractor questions. We generally coordinate plant sourcing and come back to site for plant delivery and layout. We'll help ensure the finished landscape reflects the original design vision. We can also help bring in post-installation maintenance gardeners/teams and bring them up to speed on new plantings.
